Why FDA food registration is only one task for Ghana exporters

Facility registration, product compliance, FSVP and shipment Prior Notice have different owners and evidence.

A Ghana exporter of cocoa-based foods, processed fruit and other packaged foods should first identify the covered facility and any exemption. Food registration identifies the facility to FDA; it does not approve a food, label or shipment. A shea product may be sold as food or a cosmetic depending on its intended use and claims; choose the regulatory path before filing.

Map the other roles

The U.S. FSVP importer owns applicable supplier-verification duties. The Prior Notice filer provides shipment information when required. A food manufacturer may need preventive controls, labeling and product-specific review; acidified or low-acid canned foods and some animal-derived products have additional pathways when applicable.

Keep evidence by task

Retain the FDA food registration number/status, relevant DUNS/UFI record, Agent acceptance, importer evidence, label review and Prior Notice confirmation separately. A FEI lookup or a professional-service invoice proves none of these obligations complete.
