How It Works

Provide your facility name, address, flock size, and production information. Shell egg producers have specific data fields beyond standard food facility registration.
We file both required registrations
Shell egg producers typically need both FDA food facility registration and shell egg producer registration under 21 CFR 118. We handle both filings in the correct sequence.
Registration confirmed
You receive confirmation of your FDA registration numbers. US Agent appointment is active for Year 1.
Common questions
Who needs FDA shell egg registration?+
Foreign egg producers who produce, hold, or transport shell eggs for human consumption in the United States and have 3,000 or more laying hens must register under 21 CFR Part 118. This is in addition to the standard FDA food facility registration.
Is this different from food facility registration?+
Yes. Shell egg producer registration is a separate filing under 21 CFR Part 118, on top of the standard FDA food facility registration. Most egg producers need both. If you only need the general food facility registration, see that service separately.
What flock size triggers the requirement?+
Producers with 3,000 or more laying hens that sell shell eggs in the US are required to register. Producers with fewer than 3,000 hens are generally exempt from 21 CFR Part 118, though the standard food facility registration may still apply.
Does this include the Egg Producer Bundle?+
The Egg Producer Bundle ($599) includes DUNS Number Acquisition, FDA Food Facility Registration, Shell Egg Producer Registration, and US Agent Year 1. This service ($249) covers the shell egg filing and US Agent only.
