What is an FEI number?+
An FEI number (FDA Establishment Identifier) is a unique 7-digit number FDA assigns to each registered facility. It appears in FDA's import records, inspection databases, and all FDA filings tied to that facility.
When do I need an FEI number?+
Cosmetic manufacturers need an FEI number before completing MoCRA facility registration. Drug manufacturers need it before drug establishment registration. If your facility already appears in FDA records from a previous food or device registration, you may already have one.
Is an FEI number the same as a DUNS number?+
No. A DUNS number is a Dun & Bradstreet identifier used in FDA food registration. An FEI number is FDA's own internal identifier assigned to each registered establishment. Cosmetic and drug registrations use the FEI, while food registrations require a DUNS.
Is FEI acquisition included in your bundles?+
